Arcus Development Group Inc. ("Arcus") has begun an airborne magnetometer survey over its Dawson Gold project area. The high resolution aeromagnetic survey will cover approximately 7,800 line kilometres at 100 m line spacing with tie lines every 1,000 m. The survey will be completed by mid-April 2011 and the data interpretation is expected by early May 2011. Arcus has commissioned Precision GeoSurveys Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia to conduct the survey using a Bell 206B helicopter equipped with a nose-mounted cesium vapor magnetometer. Data interpretation will be carried out by Condor Consulting Inc. of Lakewood, Colorado.
Based on the Arcus exploration results to date and those announced by other companies working in the district, gold mineralization in the White Gold area appears to be hydrothermal in nature and structurally controlled. The airborne magnetometer survey is being conducted to identify structural features in the Dawson Gold project area and to allow Arcus to prioritize targets for detailed soil sampling and ground based geophysical surveys prior to drill testing in 2011.
The Dawson Gold project is located in the White Gold area approximately 100 kilometres south of Dawson City, Yukon Territory. It is comprised of the Touleary, Dan Man, Green Gulch and Shamrock claim blocks, all under option from ATAC Resources Ltd. Collectively, the four claim blocks contain 1,348 mineral claims and cover an area of approximately 28,000 hectares. The Green Gulch and Touleary claims are located immediately adjacent to Kinross' White Gold property, while the Dan Man claims are located immediately north of Kaminak's Coffee claims.
